Rod MacFarlane award 2016

The Rod MacFarlane Award is named after Rod Macfarlane who died in 1994 and was a champion for disabled people through his work as a Regional Councillor. Rod was also Chair of the Forfar and District Access for Disabled Trust and first Chair of the Angus Access Panel.

Each year the award is presented to buildings or facilities in Angus which demonstrate the best examples of positive efforts being made to encourage the inclusion of people with disabilities.

After inspecting eight properties, the 2016 award was presented to The Adam Centre, Montrose. The day centre was designed by local architects John D Crawford Ltd. Timmergreens Primary School, Arbroath received a highly commended.

The presentations were made on 8/12/2016 at both buildings by the Chair of the Angus Access Panel, Agnes Mackay.rodmcf2016adam
